UWF School of Education Secures Significant NSF Grant for STEM Teacher Preparation

The University of West Florida School of Education has been awarded a substantial grant of $578,792 from the National Science Foundation. This funding will enable the institution to spearhead a collaborative initiative focused on enhancing undergraduate teacher education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
This project is part of a larger funding package totaling $1,498,899, which has been distributed among five universities. The aim is to strengthen the quality of STEM education by improving the preparation of future teachers, thereby addressing the growing demand for skilled educators in these critical areas.
The initiative is expected to foster innovative teaching methods and curriculum development, ultimately contributing to a more robust educational framework for STEM disciplines.
