A Fresh Start for Catholic Education in Central Oregon

The newly established Catholic high school in Central Oregon is embracing a traditional approach to education as it begins its inaugural year. Unlike many modern educational institutions, students at this school are not equipped with iPads or laptops. Instead, they are immersed in a classical curriculum crafted by the Chesterton Schools Network, focusing on subjects such as Latin, Euclidean geometry, and philosophy.
Inside the two classrooms dedicated to the eight high school students, the environment is rich with educational tools, including several maps pinned to the walls, complemented by a blackboard and a whiteboard. This setup reflects the school's commitment to fostering a deep understanding of foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills.
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School aims to cultivate not just academic excellence but also a strong moral and ethical framework for its students.
